ExpressionEngine 6.2 is Here!

Today we’re excited to announce the release of ExpressionEngine 6.2 as well as Pro 1.1!
ExpressionEngine 6.2 has oodles of new additions, fixes, and updates that fall under two main themes.
Security
The first is security. As mentioned in our update video last month, this release is being flagged as a critical security update. Please note this is not due to a specific critical security bug that has been fixed, but due to the sheer number of lower severity security items that have been addressed since the initial 6.0.0 release.
ExpressionEngine has long been known for its security, as such, we felt it was time to take a step forward with password requirements, in 6.2.0 we’re also rolling out a new Password Security Policy. Please note, if you previously had “Require Secure Passwords” set, this is now considered the “Basic” password policy.
In addition to the new Password Security Policy, we’ve also added Multi-Factor Authentication to Pro 1.1.
Additional Features
In addition to security, we decided to take the opportunity to sprinkle in roughly 20+ additional feature requests from the community. While we encourage you to take a peek at the full change log, the following are a few noteworthy changes to call out!
- Ability to view password on login
- Ability to search by url_title and entry_id in entries manager
- New channel entries parameters
- Improved search performance (Hat tip to Robson)
- Improve cookie registration
- Performance enhancements
