ExpressionEngine Pro can be used by any site running ExpressionEngine 6.1 or higher. This includes all sites upgraded from earlier versions.

Yes. No changes are needed with your license to go from v6 to v7.

Absolutely. We believe in the power of open source software and the value it brings to the ExpressionEngine community and the developer community overall. We believe that ExpressionEngine 7 is a big step in creating a powerful platform for new and seasoned developers to build and collaborate on. Collaboration between the ExpressionEngine team and the community will create libraries and technology that will help not only members of the community flourish but also all developers using similar development stacks.

MSM sites require an initial site license ($249) to be purchased. From there, each additional MSM site requires an additional MSM Pro License. 

If your subscription expires, ExpressionEngine will start throwing a warning in the control panel.  Please note it will NOT take your site down. You will have 1 year from the end of your previous license to renew your license. After the 1 year grace period, you will be required to re-purchase a full site license.

If you are working on a project for a non-profit or charitable organization you may request a free license by going to https://expressionengine.com/store/request-pro-license and completing the form.

Your initial site license does not automatically renew. When you're ready to renew your initial site license, you will then have the option to renew for 1 year or subscribe to renewals at a reduced cost.
