ExpressionEngine 7 Updated Pricing

After several weeks of hearing from the community, we’re happy to announce new pricing for ExpressionEngine 7.

New Pricing

• Core - We’re keeping the Core of ExpressionEngine 7 free! 
• Pro - Pro opens up unlimited control panel users and is initially $249 for the 1st year of updates. After your first year, a Pro license can be renewed for as low as $49/yr.
• MSM - Each additional MSM site license is $49 for the 1st year of updates, and can then be renewed for as low as $39/year.

What’s Changed

User Limits

Originally we released ExpressionEngine 7 with all of the new features as well as all the features that were previously only available with a Pro license for Free when a site only needs 1 registered user. If you needed more users (with Control Panel access or without), you needed to purchase a Pro license. We’ve updated this to now allow unlimited non-control panel users in the Core version for free. This allows for more freedom on sites that only need 1 user with Control Panel access, but still want to allow users to register to leave comments, create e-commerce accounts, update content via Channel Forms, or other member functions. If you need more than one user with Control Panel access, a Pro license will still be required.

Pricing

Initially, a Pro license for ExpressionEngine 7 was going to remain the same as it had been for ExpressionEngine 6: $199/yr. Our goal is to build ExpressionEngine as a stable platform that everyone can thrive off of. However, it was clear from the community that the current pricing just was missing the mark. In light of this, we have updated the pricing for ExpressionEngine Pro to $249 for the 1st year of updates. After your first year, a Pro license can be renewed for $49/yr when you subscribe to yearly renewals or $59 for a single year of updates.

MSM licenses have also been reduced from $99/yr to $49 for the 1st year of updates, and can then be renewed for $39/year when you subscribe to yearly renewals or $49 for a single year of updates.

Pro With ExpressionEngine 6

If you need to purchase a Pro license for use with ExpressionEngine 6, these licenses have also been reduced to the above pricing. If you are currently using Pro with ExpressionEngine 6, your yearly renewal will be reduced to $49/yr.
